Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA)

Rights Respecting School Award

At Teesville Primary School we believe that children's rights are important and they are at the heart of everything we do. Last year we were pleased to recieve RRSA level 1 and we are now working hard to acheive our level 2 of the award.

The RRSA award is a UNICEF supported project which provides the framework, training and support for schools to improve awareness of the CRC (Convention for the Rights of the Child) throughout the school curriculum.

We have a committee made up of adults and children in school that meets regularly to work on different rights projects. Each class in Y1-Y6 class has an RRSA Officer who watches for children who show respect for others and who work on specific projects in school. These children wear a special star badge so everyone knows who they are!
